EUNAN INJURED AFTER MAGNY-COURS SPILL

 In News

The Pirelli French Round started as forecast very wet on Friday morning and the rain never let up much all weekend. After topping one of the wet sessions at the previous round in Catalunya, Eunan was looking forward to riding wet or dry at the Circuit De Nevers Magny-Cours but unfortunately a crash ruled him out of the race.

Eunan McGlinchey:
“FP1 started in wet conditions and I was looking forward to riding as I knew we had a good wet set up from the last round in Barcelona. I finished the session P6 in my group and was happy as it was another new circuit from me, and I had get to know the grip level also. FP2 we made a few changes to suit the circuit and I managed to push up to P3 in my group in that one. Saturday morning was FP3 again wet and cold with us looking to improve the bike further I unfortunately high-sided at T13 and fell heavily. Banged up a bit we went into Superpole, but I only completed a couple of laps to start on the ninth row of the grid. Race 1 started and after one lap it was red flagged, the restart was a six-lap sprint race then and I gave my all getting from P29 to P14 on the last lap when I got clipped in T8 and went down again. I remounted and finished P26. Sunday morning, I was feeling stiff and sore and went to the medical centre to get checked out and my left wrist was fractured so our weekend was over. I’d like to thank the whole team for another big effort this weekend and also all the teams and my personal sponsors. We deserved a lot more from this weekend, but we roll on to Estoril, but first another race for me to hopefully be fit for the last round.”
