Team 109 Racing is pleased to announce that twenty-two-year-old female racer Astrid Madrigal will join them for the remaining rounds of the 2023 FIM Supersport World Championship, beginning at Magny-Cours in France this coming weekend.

The Mexican honed her skills in her native country with Italika Racing as part of their race school programme and in a category of the Racing Bike Mexico Superbike series. She has most recently been seen competing in the ultra-competitive ESBK Supersport 300 series in Spain. With a best result of sixteenth at Motorland Aragon earlier this year, Team 109 is excited to welcome Astrid into their family and looks forward to a positive and successful partnership together.

Astrid Madrigal:
“I am very happy to be part of this project with Team 109 and Italika racing. It is a new opportunity, and I am very happy to represent Latin America in the world championship. It will be a big challenge, but I am ready for it and want to thank everyone who has made it possible.”

Paul Tobin – Team Principal:
“We are delighted to welcome Astrid to the team for the remaining round of the 2023 season. Astrid is a very talented rider, and she becomes the first female racer to race for Team 109 in any series! We are very excited to begin working with her and to commence our journey together. She has shown that she is very determined and has clear ambitions within the sport and we are happy to have her on board and to welcome her onto the World Supersport 300 grid for the final three rounds of the year. I’d like to thank all our sponsors and supporters as well as Italika Racing for making this opportunity happen.”
